No Positive Conclusion - Voters Across the US Voice Anxieties Over the Funding Lapse
US politicians from each political sides are pointing fingers as thousands of workers are on furlough and the closure drags on with no conclusion in sight.
The Democratic Party have declined to endorse the GOP funding bill unless expiring medical assistance which they argue many working families count on are continued.
The Republican Party desire Democrats to enact a interim legislation initially and then they can address the financial aid.
A Republican Voter, Mid-Forties, GOP Supporter
This California voter is concerned about the widespread impact of the funding halt on ordinary people.
The Republicans have fifty-three votes, they need sixty to enact the measure. Could it be that difficult to come together over 7 votes so that US citizens are protected?
If this drags on for an extended period, the reality is the public are being hurt, US residents are being impacted by this and somebody should do something to be the responsible party in the room.
I think sometimes politicians are so far away from ordinary citizens, the average individual living their lives, so they don't remember what the struggle is like and I think they need to factor that in, particularly if it's a large number of Americans that are unpaid.
That's a lot of citizens not getting paid, that's a lot of citizens not putting their earnings toward the market. Citizens are just being hurt.
Denise Demontagnac, Twenty-Two, Democratic Supporter
This Old Line State citizen acknowledges this closure will cause pain to many Americans, but she believes it is a worthy battle.
I'm nervous because there is no good outcome with the federal government being shut down.
I'm very anxious about what's going to transpire to economically disadvantaged groups, scholars who rely on public aid and government workers.
But this is a worthwhile battle for the Democratic Party to fight. Naturally jobs are going to be lost, initiatives are going to go without funding, which is so regrettable but I do not believe that is responsibility that the Democrats would have on their conscience.
I believe it's worth it to stand firm, this is communicating a meaningful message to their constituents.
Punal Bhavsar, Thirty-Six, Democrat
This California citizen is anxious the Democratic Party lack a plan in their funding gap approach.
I don't know if the top Democrat has a roadmap for an off-ramp to talks or how to lead the group out of this.
I question if the Democrats have a clear narrative to the American people on what they're pursuing.
In terms of social media messaging, the Republicans clearly have the advantage. The messaging is not resounding on what the left are aiming for.
I'm presently at a juncture where I'm fairly anxious because federal closures don't help anyone.
I'm going to be okay, but for everyone else who relies on the federal system, who plans to explore a federal park or institution, they're going to be affected, if not currently, then in the near future.
And that is intolerable.
Jim Sullivan, Fifty-Five, GOP Supporter
This Hoosier State voter states the left are playing politics with everyday Americans and their income.
This is usual partisan behavior. It is a temporary funding they are seeking to approve, that the Democrats don't support.
Many are labeling it a Democratic closure, it's not the fault of the GOP, it's due to the opposition, he's acting to maintain influence within his own party - in the meantime, all are in the difficult position.
I do not perceive that this is going to end.
The real people are caught in the middle, and Democrats are willing to disregard them. They're hurting their cause any advantages when they truly delay issues like this.
A Democratic Voter, 27, Democrat
This Sunshine State citizen claims the Democratic strategy is a challenging but essential one and one that impacts his relative, who has been placed on leave because of the shutdown.
The Democratic strategy is a tough one, but regrettably it is a required one.
They have been unable to do very much to slow or stop the current administration's priorities.
I agree with their tactic, I support their justification for taking this action.
The current president is a bully and if you acquiesce to a aggressor he's going to demand more, that's how bullies behave. So you have to stand up to a bully to make him recognise you're not going to surrender for nothing.
The point when it goes too far is when the Democrats start failing in the public relations war, if the story turns to criticizing the left then it might be necessary to reach a resolution.
Rom Solene, Mid-Sixties, GOP Supporter
This Grand Canyon State voter is insulated by the closure so he is accepting of the closure lasting a while, if that is what it is needed for the GOP to win.
I would believe after the period that the left have had, I would have assumed that they would have supported the temporary funding, at least temporarily.
I am all for what the GOP are attempting, I'm fully supportive of cutting public expenditure.
The Democrats have grown so opposed of the administration, no matter what he offers I believe they would look for excuses to fight him.
I personally am not feeling the urgency that many citizens are, this does not affect.
What little we need from the public services - what it does provide for us - the shutdown is not going to impact us {whatsoever|at all|in any
