'Living a Nightmare': Loved Ones of Unaccounted For Teenagers Desperately Seek News After Alpine Fire

The relatives of young people lost after a tragic inferno at a venue in a Switzerland's ski resort are facing an agonising wait for answers and pleading for information about their loved ones via social media.

The fire ripped through the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Confirmed video depict the roof structure catching alight as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take considerable time to formally name the those who perished of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and wounded another scores more. Authorities stated on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with the process ongoing to name the remaining few.

In the interim, relatives have been taking to social media to plead for clues about their friends who were present at the venue that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The location of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are still unconfirmed, according to an public plea from his mother.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, explained to a local newspaper that she had returned to Lausanne to see if he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the equivalent search in Bern, but did not locate him.

"I'm living a nightmare, an ordeal. Either I find my son in the morgue, or I find him in intensive care. It's horrific," she told the paper.

She added that some of his companions had been located with injuries covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they went through hell."

The Italian government has said that a number of of its nationals remain missing.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around the turn of the new year on New Year's Eve, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old sportsman, originally from Genoa but now residing in Dubai.

The Italian Golf Federation has said that he is deceased, without directly referencing the fire, paying tribute to a "talented young man who carried with him dedication and true sportsmanship."

His father, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around the new year. An representative has indicated that a official announcement of his death is still pending.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also unaccounted for. His mother explained that he had been on holiday but had gone out with a group and found himself at the bar.

"A close friend told me they escaped after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he lost sight of him," she said, adding he had been wearing a identifiable piece of jewelry.

One of his educators stated, "I remember his kindness and positive demeanor, alongside great maturity. He would frequently offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Swiss and Greek nationality but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also at the bar on that night, according to reports.

Her brother has posted an urgent request on social media, saying the relatives has had "no news" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are closely watching the case.
